West End gets a lot of the restaurant love in the Roatan community. Everything from “Go to West End for the best food”, “There is no nightlife in West Bay”, and “The food is overpriced and bland in West Bay”. But hold up! West Bay is no slouch! From upscale, to beach casual, to grab and go – West Bay has numerous dining options that just plain ROCK.
Here are some of my favorites – and yes, I use the term “restaurant” very casually when picking these places. Any place that has indoor seating equates to a restaurant in my eyes. No matter how many times they put “cafe” or “market” at the end of the name.
Wonderful breakfast and lunch spot. The prices are very reasonable, and it’s casual. The go-to food here is the baleadas (mix between a quesadilla and a soft shell taco). They have a different breakfast special everyday of the week.
One of my favorite restaurants for dinner. Probably the best food in West Bay. Coconut shrimp is to die for. Lobster Mondays and busy Saturday nights are usually the most fun and active.
One of the best bar spots in West Bay. Nightly entertainment. Don’t miss out on Sunday night. There is a fun crab race for charity (children with AIDS) and a fire-dancer that comes out around 7pm or so.
One of my favorite places for food on the go. The best: freshly made sandwiches, pizzas, and soft-serve ice cream.
Great for snacks and coffee. Everything from smoothies, to baked goods and sandwiches, beers and cocktails. The carrot cake and pizzas are wonderful! Open early in the mornings – 8am on the weekends, 7:30am during the weekdays.
