Curacao has plenty of beaches that offer plenty of variety, whether you want a great view, some waves, a place for a picnic, the ideal snorkeling location, or anything in between.
Mambo: The beach with everything
Located in the relatively chic part of Curacao, Mambo beach is the definition of convenience. This beach will have plenty of beach chairs for $3 a day. The waters are protected by manmade rocks just off shore. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and bathrooms – so you could stay here all day!
Playa Lagun: The beach for some peace and quiet (and snorkeling)
Playa Lagun is a small beach surrounded by beautiful beautiful cliffs. The snorkeling is fantastic, and offers you a chance to see a variety of fish, squid and even turtles during the morning and afternoon. Since the beach is so small, it’s a great place to relax as it doesn’t get as much foot traffic as some of the other beaches on Curacao.
There is a restaurant on the cliff to the right side of the beach, with some iguanas tanning out in the sun.
Playa Knip: For pretty pictures and cliff diving
Playa Knip offers some of the most breathtaking sceneries in all of Curacao. Although it’s one of the further beaches from Willemstad, it’s worth the journey! Crystal clear water, an overlook for amazing pictures, and cliff jumping from the right side of the beach (but be careful!).
Playa Kalki: for diving and snorkeling
Looking to jump in the water and see some fish and health coral? Look no further, Playa Kalki is your beach! This beach is at the Western tip of Curacao, which means it’s the furthest from Willemstad of any of the beaches. But it’s well worth the trip for divers and snorkelers. There is a roped off area to swim in, and on this beach I was able to find my first ever octopus that I followed for a good half an hour. There are restaurants and bathrooms on site as well, which is a nice perk!
Klein Curacao: For the adventurous
Klein Curacao is a small island off the coast of Curacao only accessible by boat. The ride is about 2 hours (depending on the weather conditions), but the white sandy beaches and complete privacy will be well worth it!
